Doctor Who quote

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and... bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant. And we definitely added to his pile of good things."

Day of Delirium #54 - The Power of Change

This information is from the owner of the gym that I go to for personal training - Fusion Fitness Studio. His name is Fernando Paredes, CPT and he is one of the most upbeat, positive, motivating people I know.

The Power of Change

Do you wish you could change something about your life right now?

I'm here to argue that... change can happen in an instant.

I know this goes against popular thought. Most people believe that change has to be worked at for months or even years. We expect to try and fail numerous times before we ultimately give up or succeed.

How many people do you know who struggle with their weight? They want to make a healthy change by getting in shape, but the change never seems to take hold.

- Is there something in your life that you want to change?
- Do you have weight to lose?
- Do you have high blood pressure?
- Do you have a pair of pants that you wish you could fit into?

What is keeping you from making a positive change in your life?

According to professional speaker and author, Anthony Robbins, it's the getting ready to change that takes time. In the end there's a single instant when the change occurs. Robbins goes on to outline three specific beliefs that you must have in order to instantly create a lasting change.

Belief #1: Something must change.

Do you sort of want to get into shape, or do you absolutely have to lose the weight? Does dropping a few pounds sound nice, or is living another day in your current body unbearable? In order to make a lasting change you must be convinced that the time has come.

[Like 16 years ago, when I was laying in a hospital bed because my lower-back went out, yet again, but this time in severe spasm and I was being pumped with muscle relaxers, pain pills and I decided enough is enough. I resolved in my mind, right then and there, and said to myself "This will NEVER happen to me again." The time had come.]

Belief #2: I must change it.

It is vital that you take full responsibility in making the change. Sure, others may assist you, but in the end you are the one who is going to make it happen. You have to need this change enough to make it your personal mission—no one else will do it for you.

[Again, just like when I was laying in that hospital bed and then I also said to myself "If I don't fix my lower-back problem NOW at 24 years of age, where will I be when I'm 34, 44, 54, etc.? I NEED to do this NOW."]

Belief #3: I can change it.

Don't let past failures get in your way. The truth is that you can do amazing things when you put your mind to it. Believe that you are capable of losing weight or making any other positive change in your life.

Why do most people fail to make lasting change? They leave it up to willpower. This works for awhile, but you'll always revert back to what's comfortable.
The solution? Change what you're comfortable with.

You've heard that humans are motivated by two things:
1) to avoid pain
2) to gain pleasure

When you want to change a behavior pattern the key is to associate pain with the behavior that you don't want and pleasure with the behavior that you do want.

You know that you want to lose weight and that to do so you need to quit eating comfort food late at night, right? You also know that you need to start exercising on a regular basis. Up until this point your brain is trained to associate pleasure with eating comfort food late at night and to associate pain with exercise.

It's time to retrain your brain to feel good about exercise and to feel bad about eating late at night.

To feel BAD about eating late... do this:

Think about all of the negative things about being overweight and connect these unpleasant thoughts to your late night snack.
To feel GOOD about exercise... do this:
Now think about all of the wonderful things about being in shape and connect these pleasant thoughts to exercise.

++++++++++

So what do I want to change in my life??
I would like to finish at least one thing I have started writing since falling in love with Twilight!
Guess what?
I did it!!
Over at Tigerlily's Tirade blog I have a one shot posted for her Write on Wednesday (WOW) post!

This is the first thing I have put out to the public ever.
I hope you will take a moment to read my one shot and offer me your true opinion.
I welcome any and all feedback.
Thank you!

Day of Delirium #53 - Tag, I'm It??

Well it appears that Mrs. P has tagged me to answer some very important life affirming questions.
She is lucky I love her and would do almost anything for her ;)
I will not, however, be tagging anyone else.
I can hardly keep up with the blogs and my emails lately I can't imagine adding more to it.
So here we go...

1) In the car, is it the radio or a CD?

Well seeing as I don't have a CD player it is the radio but I still make tapes of CDs so sometimes it is tape - usually the Twilight Saga Soundtracks.

2) In the rain... is it an umbrella or a hood?

Hood if I have stuff to carry, umbrella if I am just walking in the rain.

3) What is your favorite season of the year?

Spring - although this past year while I was sneezing I wondered why I liked it... and then I saw the baby goats, the baby sheep, the baby bunnies and all the flowers blooming and I remembered why I love it.

4) In bed.... tell me about your pajamas.

Tee-shirt and shorts or long sleeved shirt and lounge pants. Simple and comfy.

This bathroom looks soooo familiar hmmmmm

5) Do you get dressed in the bathroom or do you come out in a towel?

I get dressed in my bedroom.

6) How many times a day do you ignore the phone when it rings?

I don't ignore the phone because it rarely rings and very few people have the number so it is usually someone I want to talk to.

7) Tell me your best birthday present ever.

Italy with my Mom.

8) Neighbors... do you talk to them or are they strangers to you?

Talk to them and thank goodness for that because right now we are using their water from their house! The city is fixing the pipes outside our house and we have no water. So the fix was to put a hose from our neighbor's outside faucet to our outside faucet and have us use their water!! I had no idea that could work but it does. Luckily the city will write off the usage from their bill but we will still conserve as much as we can. I love our neighbors :)

Well I hope you all learned a little bit more about me. Thank you Mrs. P for tagging me, that was fun! :)

Day of Delirium #52 - FFOORRKKSS Goodies

While most people are posting pictures of the trip, I am going to go a different route for now and post all the goodies I got in Forks. Some things I bought myself and others were gifted to me by various and lovely friends. I am a lucky lady.

Items from the parties and such. Grey bracelet from My After Car, Mini-E tee from RedBella, Rob porn pin from Twi Lin, black bracelet from Twitarded, and fangs and napkin from The Lodge.

The Chocolate was a gift for my hubby. I love the magnet for my car. And I couldn't pass up the pencil drawing of Edward, Bella and "Jacob".

LOVE this shirt!!! Like Vegas, only better ;)

Front and back pictures of my newest Sweetheart items!!

I collect smiley faces for my car - this is PERFECT!!
It is leaning on my driftwood from First Beach La Push.

Thank you Living with Edward for helping me pick out Alice.
It was time for a female force amongst the boys in my house LOL!

I always get a horse item on any trip I go on, this would be no different.
I went with the all black horse, it seemed appropriate.

I also bought the bookmark for DangrDonna and Living with Edward. Who knew that our friendships would get stronger on this trip?
Thank you both for everything! I love you!

I love that the chip clip says "Bite Me" LOL!!!
I couldn't have just the vampires represented so I got the wolf chip clip too :)

And thank you again to Living with Edward for finding the all inclusive book cover pin! Major points for finding it. I love to collect pins too and this was beyond perfect for the trip.

I will never use this on my cell phone but I love the statement and I like the heart.

Thank you to TwilightCupcake for these gifts.
First picture is the rolled up version of the poster in the second picture. This is the poster I wanted from Montepulciano Italy when I was there but everything was closed when I went to get it. So TC kindly got one for me on her trip to Italy and brought it all the way to Forks for me.
Then TC also brought along the can that Peter Facinelli was drinking from at the Vancouver TwiTour when he tweeted me. How cool is that??? Ok a little gross too but I LOVE it!!! Thank you TC!!

Twilight Cupcake and HonoluluGirl also got me my very special pin!!
I was so touched they thought of me during their shopping trip and I can't believe this pin even exists.
I can't wait to add it to my bag so people always know I am gluten-free. Thank you TC and HG!!

Next up StarlitViolets gave me my own personalized scrapbook to use for FFOORRKKSS!!
I already have my name tags stuck inside the front cover.
And she hand made the gorgeous scarf.
It was perfect too as I decided to not pack my scarf but I really needed it when we went to Rialto Beach for the sunset - it even matches my gloves I already have.
Thank you SV!

And then my not bigger than a breadbox gift from MamaCougar!!
A signed photo of my other favorite actor from the Twilight Saga -
Edi Gathegi!
WOW!! I was in awe that she would do this for me. I can't wait to frame this and hang it at work.
So beautiful. Thank you MC!!!

And lastly, this is my tee-shirt that RedBella made for everyone to purchase. I love it and I am glad to have survived.
I added the business cards and Light Rail Pass from Seattle as a reminder of all the places we went on our trip.

It was an amazing trip with incredible women and I can't believe it is all done already.
Until next time... I love you all and thank you!

FFFOOOOOORRRRKKKSSS!!!!

Day of Delirium #51 - World Smile Day

Always remember to be happy because you never know who's falling in love with your smile.
~Author Unknown

Today, give a stranger one of your smiles.  It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.
~Quoted in P.S. I Love You, compiled by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Thank you to Robmusement for celebrating World Smile Day in one of the best ways possible.
