Doctor Who quote

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and... bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant. And we definitely added to his pile of good things."

Day of Delirium #217 - The Solution to A Shared Cause

Yesterday I posted a link to my friend Tony's great blog post about the lack of diversity in our Comic Con world. It you have not read it, please read it here before reading the next link.

Today Tony posted his solution for this lack of diversity. Again I could never say this better, if at all and I hope you will take the time to read his post.

Day of Delirium #215 - Profound Statement

I was searching through Twitter the other day and came across this profile statement that struck me as very profound.

Day of Delirium #214 - Going once, going twice

NOT sold to us.

Bummer

We saw these at Comic Con and they were on eBay to raise money for "We Can Be Heroes". We were hoping to have them for our house since my hubby is Batman and I am Catwoman ... If only in a caricature that was done of us once. But it was not to be.

Love how this one is different depending how you orient it on your wall.

Day of Delirium #212 - Monkey Dance

After Comic Con ended this year, we went on a two hour harbor cruise on our last day. While at dock between the routes a fun song came on the ship radio and our monkeys, Mocha and George, decided to have a dance party.

Enjoy! I hope it makes you smile.

Day of Delirium #211 - High Hopes for Falling Skies

So this morning's goal was to get to the Exhibit Floor and get to the Dark Horse Comics booth to see if I/we could win an autograph wristband for a cast signing after the panel.

We got to the booth in great time and got in line. I said my prayers and when the girl said "You can always get back in line." I said, "I'm going to get it the first time."

The next girl held out the bag, announced that the Falling Skies wristbands were going fast and then said "Good luck, pull out a red bead and you win."

I reached in, prayed, and

I pulled up red bead to get my wonderful wristband pictured above.

I almost cried, I wanted this so badly and I heard the girls say I had the best reaction to winning.

Then I turned back and hubby was pulling out a red bead. So not only was I lucky enough but my hubby too!!

Day of Delirium #210 - X-Files

So this happened today:

Hubby and I met because of X-Files so we were very excited to do a photo op with both Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. We were dressed as Scully and Mulder and they seemed impressed with what we did. We got to thank then for all their work and gush about how much we like them.

Then it was back to the panel room to be there for the 20th anniversary X-Files panel which was also attended by the creator Chris Carter and a whole team of writers. It was a great time and we were so glad to be a part of it.

Day of Delirium #209 - Childhood Friendship

So who of you are still friends with your childhood best friend? I didn't think I would be as she became a doctor and moved to California. But thanks to Twilight and Comic Con we are now back in touch and enjoying out friendship all over again.

The first year of Comic Con we met in town and had dinner. Last year we spent most of the Monday after together. This year ... we spent two nights at her house. What a glorious time. Her children are so much fun and their dog is just a live bug. I am so grateful we had this time together.

Every time my hubby says we might not do Comic Con next year I get sad because I don't think I want to stop the annual visit to my friend.

I am forever grateful that she still thought about me and even told her children all about our friendship. To the point that her daughter said once "I hope I can have a friend like Sharon in my life." Truly one of the sweetest things ever.

I hope you all have at least one long term friend because it is pretty special. Knowing someone for most of your life, who isn't family, is pretty amazing.

Day of Delirium #208 - San Diego

Well except for our gate being moved to the absolute last gate in the Philadelphia airport and a poor sleepy child screaming for and hour or so right in front of us, we made it to San Diego. We are currently sitting in my childhood best friend's house getting ready for the day.

Life is good.

Day of Delirium #205 - Family Visit September 2012

Some of you may know that my sister and brother in law are traveling the country in a 5th wheel/RV/camper and we don't see them much. But they did come to visit last September for 10 days and it was a great time. They have two dogs, my niece and nephew, who I just adore. Karly is an 8 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Jake is a 4 year old white Golden Retriever.

We did a ton of fun things and just spend quality time together. We got to see the 5th wheel for the first time and it was amazing. If I didn't love my stuff so much, I am sure I could live in the 5th wheel and travel the country. My favorite part though was spending time with Karly and Jake, they are just the best dogs. Karly is our little princess and Jake is the surfer dog. It will probably be noticeable in the all the pictures.

Pooped Pups - they slept very well that night

We were lucky that there were many Farmer's Markets going on in Bethlehem PA and we headed to ArtsQuest/SteelStacks twice to partake of the amazing bounties we could find.
Below are some pictures of the old Bethlehem Steel plant that is still on the ArtsQuest property.

Family dinner at Emeril's Burgers and More at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem PA.
My brother in law only plays slot machines when with my mother. It seems to pay off as he won the most in our two trips to the Sands! He was very happy!

Then it was time for them to go.

I love you Karly and Jake

Until next time!

Day of Delirium #204 - The Vampire Diaries Tour August 2012

Now it's time for my other favorite vampires, werewolves and witches oh my. The Vampire Diaries Tour was stopping in New Jersey and I had a front row seat! I also had good friends who were going to be working the tour. What a great weekend it was!!

Welcome by Hannah Hindi of The Hillywood Show as Caroline

The best story from these guys is that they started out disliking each other but they are now seriously the best of friends, if not brothers. It was wonderful getting to know these two. They are extremely intelligent and both love acting. I can't wait to see what else they will do in their careers.

Costume contest.

Hilly Hindi of The Hillywood Show as Katherine.
Their grandmother makes most of their clothing!

My favorite story of his is that he is Polish and speaks it too.
I wish I knew more so I could have talked to him.

The Hillywood Show!
These ladies are amazing, please check them out and support them.

This was a double bonus because Torrey is also on Pretty Little Liars which is another guilty pleasure that I watch. She was fun trying to keep all her secrets from both shows. The audience was relentless trying to get information from her for both shows.

My favorite story from him... when he gave away that he would be back!
It's all in the past now but when he accidentally said he would be back on the show you couldn't hear anything else but the cheering and applause from the audience. He is loved.

It was a great weekend and it was great to get to know each of the actors. I always love to hear their take on their characters and also hear their personal backgrounds in acting.

The best part of the whole weekend was getting the autographs from each actor. Usually I don't care about autographs but I planned to try to make the experience a little more personal with each person. Using my Twilight Breaking Dawn journal (I know, I know, mixing my vampires and werewolves) I picked a quote from the pages for each actor/character. They all absolutely loved it and none, thank goodness, noticed where the journal was from.

The best memory was from Steven R McQueen who read his quote out loud and then almost couldn't finish it when he realized how appropriate it was for his character...

“If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?" William Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice

If you watched last season you will understand how appropriate this was for Jeremy Gilbert.
