Doctor Who quote

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and... bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant. And we definitely added to his pile of good things."

Day of Delirium #55 - Just a thought

"You wouldn't worry so much about what others think of you - if you realized how seldom they do think of you."

Eleanor Roosevelt, 1884-1962, American First Lady, Author, Speaker

Additionally my friend Fernando posted another great thought on exercise this week:

Dr. Joseph Mercola, a well-known health advocate, has an interesting take on exercise. He believes that it should be prescribed, like any other medication, in daily doses.

Mercola states:
"The simple act of writing out a prescription for exercise is an excellent approach to being proactive in regard to your health. It's also far more logical, inexpensive and actually radically reduces your risk of most every chronic disease known to man. A daily exercise routine is one of the main factors in achieving optimal wellness."

So here is your prescription from Dr. Dangrdafne:

Take one 30 minute session a day for the rest of your life and do something in the realm of exercise.

Examples: Walk, walk your dog, jog in place, do push ups/sit ups/leg lifts/lift weights while watching TV, ride a stationery bike or walk on a treadmill (while reading Fan Fiction), use the stairs instead of elevators/escalators, park away from the doors at your shopping destinations, walk every aisle in the grocery store (BUT don't buy stuff in each aisle of course LOL), do yoga, or meditate.

It doesn't have to be a huge life changing exercise event, just 30 minutes of moving and I promise you it will make a difference.

Please remember I care about you and want you to be happy.

That's awesome advice!! I definitely need to follow your "prescription"!

I love the quote at the beginning too. It's great!

Hope you have a good day!

I giggled at the quote, how very true it is. :)

As for you advice, I really NEED to stick to this method of thinking. I've been really tense, and super stressed, to the point that I have lagged on my exercise routine but I think it's not exercising that has caused my stress to skyrocket. I will start my regimen today. Thanks for the reminder!!

I think this will be helpful to me. I have completely stopped excersizing in the spring and I really have noticed a big differerence, not just in the about 15 pounds I gained but how I feel too. I really need a motivator to get moving again. I think actually moving out of the house would be a good start. I don't like to leave my room.

I love the doctor like prescription you wrote out! However there is one problem with it. The handwriting is legible.

I almost exercised today. Any hints on how to get this done? Even 10 minutes a day would be an improvement for me.

@T&T I would think we all need to follow my prescription for the most part - even me :)

@HG I have no trouble remembering to take my actual prescriptions I have and I can only hope that when I add this to the pile, I will follow it too.

@ LwE I understand about your living situation but that is also a good reason for getting out and walking or anything out of the house :) Here is the really funny think about your other comment - my handwriting is actually really horrid and people call be doctor in real life because of it and I have been asked if I am a doctor when they see my writing. I took about 15 minutes to write that so you could read it LOL!!

@ TwitardedMom Questions: Why did you only "almost exercise" today? What was more important than your health that kept you from exercising? Do you watch TV? During the commercials get up and walk in place until the show comes back. Or get some weights and just lift them during the commercials. In one hour of TV watching you would have about 20 minutes of exercise.

Hmm, does exercising my forearm by bringing food to my mouth counts as exercise? I kid!

Great post and thanks for the reminder.

Somehow I missed this post, but maybe I was just out taking a walk at the time. ;)

Thanks as always for caring about our well being!

I need that RX lol! Seriously... Now is the time of year when I have to make a serious commitment to taking care of myself or risk putting on ten pounds because I eat every cookie and other holiday goodie that comes my way! And I shouldn't be eating that stuff anyway (cookies = perfect trifecta of things i should not wat - wheat, eggs, dairy - all in one delicious, harmless-looking package).

Thanks for the reminder that I need to get off the sofa sometimes...

: )

@ Miss Tejota - as long as the food you are bringing to your mouth isn't GLUTEN filled and is healthy for you, I will allow that exercise :)

@ TT I hope it was because you were walking. I truly do care about each of you.

@ STY - I could send you a care package of gluten free cookies and pierogies for Christmas if you would like (and Miss Tejota too). I will gladly do it, if you want me to. I could even try to keep out dairy and eggs. Which is your worst issue?
