Doctor Who quote

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and... bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant. And we definitely added to his pile of good things."

Day of Delirium #81 - 50 Shades of Thank You!

Our lovely and wonderful Twikiwi50 had a great idea to have all of us celebrate the conclusion of Master of the Universe by Snowqueens Icedragon (@SQIceDragon). While I am sad for the story to be over I am more than grateful that it exists. The best part is that soon it will be published so then I can hold it in my hands and read it over and over again. I have already put in my pre-order and I hope that you will also.

17ForeverLisa created this gorgeous blog button to use for the celebration and I can't help but remember how hard I worked to get Lisa to read this story. She kept making excuses and saying it was too sad, too angsty and I just kept pushing because I knew. I knew the power of MotU! Finally Lisa read it and read it and read it and then she didn't want it to end. I knew the power and now Lisa did too and now we all know. It has been an additional piece of the Twilight puzzle, a piece that has united us more and offered us another way to view Edward and Bella.

It also has brought us an author who not only is an amazing writer but a good friend too. I remember another Lisa story that I love. It was when Icy first tweeted Lisa and I thought Lisa was going to pass out. It was a celebrity writing to her and she just couldn't believe it. She was so fan girl and it was so touching and sweet. I know Icy is incredibly busy but she took the time to respond when she could and each of those responses is a treasured interaction to me.

I hope if you haven't read MotU yet, that you will purchase the books (it will be published in 3 parts) and also learn the power of Master of the Universe.

I leave you with my final comment on MotU's blog, which uses Icy's own words to describe what her story means to me:

"My world was ordered, calm and controlled, then you came into my life with your smart mouth, your innocence, your beauty and your quiet temerity...and everything before you was dull, empty, mediocre...it was nothing."

Laters, Baby

Your post was just like Fifty would want it to be. Controlled, ordered, fun, and hit the mark!
Congratulations Icy. I await each book as I've awaited each of your updates, with excitement.

Great post DD! I know many of us entered into the world of Fifty with a little trepidation, but once we were immersed, we were hooked. It's a beautiful story and loved reading about how much it has meant to you. I can't wait to get the actual book!

Love this post. I, perhaps unlike others, wasn't in the least bit worried about reading Icy's story. Instead, I was intrigued...

Maybe that says something about my latent tendencies... ;-)

So glad we all got involved in this...

Great post DD... I know if it wasn't for Lisa I never would have known about MotU. She shared her love for the story and talked me through when I wanted to quit. So I'm grateful to you for the work you did to get Lisa to read the whole story bc she did the same for me :)

I know this has always been one of your favorites and I remember early on you campaigning for Lisa and TwiredJen to read it. Mission accomplished in a big way!

I know we live in the age of ebooks, but there is this excitement with this story to having it in a book form to hold and pass along to others or being able to point to it on a shelf in your home, isn't there?

Enjoyed your post! :)

Lovely words, DD!

I wish I could remember how I heard about MotU. I really can't, but I remember being skeptical about the RRoP stuff, before thinking 'oh well' and diving right in.

Nicely written. Thank you for the shoutout and for being part of this x
